DESCRIPTION OF THE TOUR
Most people ascent Grossglockner via the normal route from Kals, East Tyrol (Osttirol).
Starting at the parking area of the mountain restaurant Lucknerhaus (1.918 m) you will follow a marked hiking trail through the Ködnitz valley (Ködnitztal), passing the Luckner hut (Lucknerhütte, 2.241 m) and reaching the Stüdl hut (Stüdlhütte, 2.802 m) in approx. 2,5 hours.
There you will meet your mountain guide at approx. 13:00.
After receiving your equipment (hired) the ascent starts via the Ködnitz glacier (Ködnitzkees) to the Erzherzog-Johann-hut (Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte, 3.454 m) which takes about 2,5 hours. There you will spend the night.
The next morning the tour to the summit begins when the sun rises. Reaching the top in about 1,5 hours you will be enjoying the astonishing view beneath the famous cross of Grossglockner.
The descent follows the same way as the ascent.

The ascent of mount Grossglockner via the normal route is possible for all sure footed alpinists who are free from fear of height and are in good physical condition.

The tour takes 2 days.
Dates are possible on short call. During the main season (July-August) it is recommended to book your mountain guide a week in advance!
The maximum group size is 3 people per mountain guide.

Prices are per person and exclusive of accomodation costs.
Payment in cash to the mountain guide after the tour.
The tour includes the guiding of a mountain guide, hired equipment, reservation of the overnight-stay in the hut, Grossglockner certificate and a schnaps in the mountain guide office in Kals.
