Tour description

A north face climb with special character, predominately on frozen waterfall ice, which offers a  very demanding route if done all the way to the Hohen Fenster.

You meet your guide early morning for the short drive to Gruben on the Felbertauernstrasse. From there you reach in 1.5 hours the base of Austrias longest waterfall climb. After 800m of WI2-3, one steep step of WI5 we reach the end of the climb. Very fit clients can choose to climb another 400m to the summit via a snow gully. The descent is down climbing and rappelling the same route. A very good calf burn is guaranteed, even for the fittest.

Although this is very much a long Waterfall climb intercepted by short walks, it has the character and feeling of a long alpine climb. For those who are interested in such an outing but feel a little overwhelmed by the length and difficulty, there are similar, but shorter climbs like the Adlerfall (400m/WI3) in the vicinity.

very good physical shape, some waterfall ice climbing experience is an asset, you should comfortably be able to follow WI4
